Farski simpozij filozofije 2023

Dani filozofije u Starome Gradu na otoku Hvaru zamišljeni su kao prostor susreta, razmjene mišljenja i dijaloga između filozofa, studenata filozofije i ljubitelja filozofije na tragu tradicije grčkog, Sokratovskog  symposiona, a u mjestu koje ima snažne antičke, grčke korijene i koje je Aristotelov vršnjak (današnji Stari Grad utemeljili su Grci s egejskog otoka Parosa kao svoju koloniju Faros 384. godine pr. Kr.).

Na dane filozofije bit će pozvani filozofi različitog usmjerenja, a otvoreni za dijalog o  temama iz povijesti filozofije koje daju moguće odgovore na suvremene probleme čovjeka i društva. Slobodno filozofiranje bez ograničenja između često suprotstavljenih filozofskih (i ideoloških) stavova bit će glavna vodilja ovih susreta.

Za prve Dane filozofije odabrana je tema: Utopija – prošlost, sadašnjost, budućnost.

Utopijsko mišljenje kroz povijest filozofije, kao i rasprava o mogućnosti takvog mišljenja u “oskudnom vremenu”, utopija kao putokaz u sadašnjosti i nada za budućnost bit će okvir za otvoreni dijalog tijekom tri dana filozofije početkom svibnja 2023. godine.

Pored egzaktne znanosti prirode, društva, ekonomije ili politike, koja sadrži i u krajnjim konzekvencama destimulira kreativni potencijal čovjeka – pored nje, a u određenom smislu i protiv nje – treba nam utopijsko mišljenje kao “vesela znanost”. (H. Jurić, Zarez, XI/266, 2009.)

 

Pharos Philosophy Symposium in Stari Grad on the island of Hvar is conceived as a space for meetings and as an exchange of opinions and dialogue between philosophers, students of philosophy and philosophy lovers following the tradition of the Greek Socratic symposium. Stari Grad is a place that has strong ancient Greek roots and is a contemporary of Aristotle (today’s ‘The Old Town’ was founded by the Greeks from the Aegean island of Paros as their Pharos colony in 384 BC).

Philosophers of different approaches are invited to the Pharos Philosophy Symposium, and will be open to dialogue on topics from the history of philosophy that provide possible answers to the contemporary problems of humanity and society. Free philosophizing without restrictions between often opposing philosophical (and ideological) positions will be the main guide of these meetings.

For the first Pharos Philosophy Symposium, the theme was chosen: Utopia – past, present, future.

Utopian thinking through the history of philosophy, as well as the discussion of the possibility of such thinking in “scarce time”, utopia as a guide in the present and hope for the future will be the framework for open dialogue during three days of philosophy in late April/early May 2023.

“In addition to the exact science of nature, society, economy or politics, which contains and ultimately discourages the creative potential of man – in addition to it, and in a certain sense against it – we need utopian thinking as “happy science” (H. Jurić, Zarez, XI/266, 2009).
